Étienne Renzo - Lives and works in the South of France

Born in Marseille, Etienne Renzo has been a photographer since the mid-70s.

He currently lives and photographs in the Buech Valley, Hautes Alpes. He has practiced show and corporate photography, as well as aerial photography. He has also worked as a farmer, airplane pilot, mechanic, company director, foundryman and local councillor.

He began self-taught photography at the age of 14, using his parents' Kodak Retina. Later, after completing a training course in metallurgy, he set up in 1975 as a professional photographer for industry and advertising.

As a teenager, he began by photographing scenes from his daily life. Scenes of life that brought him closer to intimacy, a true subject in its own right, which appeared to him as primordial and characterizing.

His work in a variety of fields - multimedia, live performance and dance, agriculture and livestock farming, mountains and forests, aviation, art-house cinema - has forged his eye and his passion for images.
Now a professional "auteur photographe" since 1999, his photography is a necessity, embodied in portraiture, a taste for skin and bodies in the midst of nature, voluptuousness. But also trees, landscapes, the other and elsewhere. Sometimes even mystery.
